  • Create 7 questions for your nominees.
  • Nominate 7 other bloggers.

Onturningpages Questions and my Answers:

1-What do you enjoy most about blogging?

Being part of the book blogging community and being able to write about and review the books I read as no-one I know in real life shares my love of reading.

2-What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books?

Hhhmm, creased book spines, ggrrr, come on people show the book some love and don’t crease the spine!

3-What genre of books can you never tire of reading?

Fantasy, particularly the Grimdark subgenre.

4-Have you read any book that you thought you may not like but ended up liking it?

Yes, a few, most recently Ten Days by Gillian Slovo, it’s a political thriller and not my usual type of read at all but I really enjoyed it.

5-Which book to movie adaptation do you like the most?

The Green Mile by Stephen King, awesome movie and an amazing book, it truly is outstanding in both formats.

6-If you could rewrite the ending of a book, how would you end it?

Under the Dome by Stephen King book, a quality read with a shockingly bad ending that I absolutely hated.

If I had the chance to rewrite the ending I’d let everyone die by keeping the dome up, your probably all screaming at me the horror and you vile evil person! But I really feel it would have been a far better ending as while bittersweet it would also have had an emotional pull and message behind it about the futility of hope and that sometimes you can’t overcome obstacles in life.

7-Have you bought books based on how the cover looks?

Yes, if a cover stands out while your looking at books in a shop obviously it’s saying buy me now!

My Nominees:

  1. RavenandBeez.
  2. The Paper Dragon.
  3. Brainfluff.
  4. The Bibliophile Blogs.
  5. Lynn’s books.
  6. dancrossbookblog.

My Questions:

  1. If you could make any book into a film/TV series, which book would you choose?
  2. What’s your preferred reading format, book or e-reader?
  3. The book you were most looking forward to but ended up being really disappointed with?
  4. Favourite drink/tipple/beverage to have whilst reading?
  5. What is your favourite genre of book to read?
  6. What book/series made you choose that specific genre?
  7. Will George R.R. Martin ever finish (Game of Thrones) A Song of Ice and Fire series?

This is the third time I’ve been tagged though it’s the first where I’m actually tagging other bloggers to do it, I’m not sure on the etiquette so, if you wish to take part please feel free and I’ll look forward to reading your posts but if not then no worries and a happy Sunday. 🙂

  1. Oh it totally breaks my heart when I see a book with a broken spine..! I started reading Under the Dome a year ago, and still haven’t got past the first 100 pages. I don’t know if I should persevere.. lol! The only reason I bought the book was because the show seemed quite good.

  2. Thanks for nominating me! I’ll do this one soon-ish, in the meantime I’ll ponder over the questions. The last one is the hardest, though .. 😛 No, for reals. Hope and fear are raging a war inside me concerning ASOIAF.

  3. Congrats! I really need to read UNDER THE DOME, but after the ending to THE DARK TOWER series, I’ve been terrified of another bad ending. Seems I might have been right to be wary of Mr. King. :/

    1. Under the Dome is a long but great read….. until the ending, I haven’t read The Dark Tower series but it seems to happen quite alot with Stephen King he writes an awesome book then finishes it with a really disappointing ending.

  4. #6 – oh dear lord yes. Under the Dome was a great book but the ending left a lot to be desired. I don’t even mind so much that some people survived, but the details behind the resolution felt like they were thrown together in five minutes.
