The Ultimate Game of Thrones book tag.

I was tagged by The paper Dragon to do this tag, many thanks, I’m a huge fan of the series and am really looking forward to doing the tag. 🙂

Part 1: Book Questions

we do not sow

“We do not sow”- A book you would not be willing to invest in:

Twilight, eugh, just, No! Yuck, pure and utter drivel! (sorry Twilight fans).

fire and blood

“Fire and blood”- A book that produced strong emotions in you:

Fool’s Errand (Tawny Man book 1) by Robin Hobb. There’s a part in here that is one of the most heartfelt, emotive and poignant passages ever written.

winter is coming

“Winter is coming”- Your favourite winter read:

I’m not going to pick a singular book, instead I’m opting for a series as winter is a season and I’m saying The Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson.

family duty honour

“Family. Duty. Honour.”- A book about strong family ties:

Assassin’s Apprentice (Farseer Trilogy book 1) by Robin Hobb. Sorry Nick V Reys, I’m stealing your answer as I’ve been trying to think of a better one and I can’t as Assassin’s Apprentice and the Farseer Trilogy on a whole just ooze family!

growing strong

“Growing strong”- A book you had low expectations of but that grew on you:

Swan Song by Robert McCammon, alot of people said it was a poor imitation of The Stand by Stephen King and while there are similarities it is an amazing read in it’s own right, I didn’t expect much from it but it blew me away with how good it was.

ours is the fury

“Ours is the fury”- A book that made you furious:

A Feast for Crows (A Song of Ice and Fire book 4) by GRRM, after an amazing first three books in the series this was an utter let down.

unbowed unbent unbroken

“Unbowed. Unbent.Unbroken.”- A book you have unwavering devotion to:

December Park by Ronald Malfi, an amazing coming of age book set in the early 90’s, I loved this book which surprised me but now it’s one of my favourite ever reads.

hear me roar

“A Lannister always pays his debts”- A book you feel indebted to:

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire book 1) by GRRM, sad to say but it’s the book that got me into fantasy.

Part 2: Fan Theories

you win or you die

Who do you want to win Game of Thrones?

I don’t think there’ll be a winner per se more survivor’s and I’m rooting for Tyrion, he’s awesome! I have high hopes that the little guy will see it through to the end!

the climb

Who do you think will make it to the end and who do you think will die?

Tyrion, Jamie, Dany, Arya, Melisandre, Bran as a Warg and Rickon will make it to the end and everyone else will die, see ya Cersei, Sansa, Little Finger, Stannis, Margaery and Tommen and bye bye and good riddance to The Frey’s and The Bolton’s you shall reap it!

Part 3: My Game of Thrones

Would you win or die?

Win! Hey, I’ve got to be optimistic and I’m going with the fact that I’m a bad ass with a heart and I would win!

What house are you?

I took this quiz to tell me my house: GoT House quiz.

And I am a………………..Stark!

This is what the quiz said about me:

The good news is, you’re a thoroughly decent human being. The bad news is, that is a very dangerous thing to be in Westeros. You are loyal, dutiful, and generally ill at ease among the toxic politics of King’s Landing. Either buckle down and learn to play the game, or get the hell out into more hospitable environments. The North may be freezing, but it also has notably less backstabbing which, bless your little heart, is not exactly your strong suit.

I tag anyone who reads this who wants to take part. 🙂

  1. I know enough to follow your book tag with interest – thoroughly enjoyed it – but I don’t follow the series and I didn’t get past ‘A Feast for Crows’ with the books… Glad you managed to survive the experience:)

  2. Great post! Have to agree with you on Tyrion; he continues to be my favorite, and I desperately hope he survives all this hell and finds a sliver of contentment. I’m not holding my breath however.

    1. I thought A Dance with Dragon’s was better than Feast for Crow’s but still not upto the standard of the first three books but I agree with you that it did somewhat redeem the series and as you say it did move the story forward. 🙂

  3. Oh my God so I took the damn quiz and I’m a Bolton! WTF! It says I’m creepy and have the highest potential of being evil. I think they mean I’m an evil genius. There’s a difference. Creepy? I’m not creepy. I would’ve thought I’d be a Stark, but apparently I’m a raving lunatic. Lock me up and throw away the key! So Game of Thrones is your reason for reading fantasy. Interesting. I only made it halfway through the book before I stopped reading. I was afraid the show would mess me up and since GRRM hasn’t finished the series I didn’t want to read all the books and have no ending. Tyrion is also my favorite. And I love Dany. They were also my favorite in the book. I’ve always thought that Dany would win in the end. That was always my prediction from day one. That seemed to make the most sense, but Tyrion winning would be a whole other level of awesome because you wouldn’t expect it. He’s such a great character. And he’s so much smarter than anyone gives him credit for. They definitely underestimate him. It’s funny you mentioned Twilight. You know you’re Team Edward. Don’t lie. 😝 Who doesn’t like vampires that sparkle like diamonds? Vomit! Those books suck so hard. You read way more adult fantasy books than I do. You’ll have to recommend some good ones for me. I started reading YA about a year ago and I feel like that’s all the bloggers read, so I’m not finding anything else other than YA and smut books. And all the books everyone tells me to read are boring. That’s why I’m reading 4 at a time.

    1. Ha, a Bolton, awesome cos Ramsey isn’t well wasn’t a freaky flaying people type of crazy! 😂

I was happy to get Stark but wasn’t impressed with the write up, I only wanted to be a Stark for the dire Wolf sigil and to get a dire Wolf but that write up sucked, everyone seems to say they’d lose at GoT on the tag but I’d damn well win or burn the world trying!-have to be different! 😊

      1. Yeah, so I guess I’m like serial killer level crazy. That’s because I answered every question that I wouldn’t follow this rules. Cause why the hell should I? Those people are fucking crazy! Yeah your write up was kinda lame for Stark. I thought it would be better. At least mine was exciting. I don’t think I’d lose either. Unless I had to hunt for my own food. 😝 I’d have to give you my sad puppy face so you’d let me follow you around while you burn down the world. That usually works. Haha! 😘

    1. Oh, I don’t know, there’s countless excuses for Malazan, it’s such a huge series! First books the shortest then the following 9 are all 1000+ pages! 😂 It is an amazing series though.

Ha, crazy people, Tyrion is awesome!
