The Wrong Goodbye:
The words you said to me,
They echo constantly,
Through clouded eyes,
I wrote the wrong goodbye,
I only wanted to be together,
You left me alone in the never,
Open up your heart,
Let it heal your soul,
If there’s one thing you should know,
It’s that I never wanted you to go,
To hear you say it’s over,
To say it’s never going to be,
The broken promises you once made,
I won’t forget,
So please remember,
I’d wait forever for my one day,
I gave you my all.
Yet you threw it away,
Now tomorrow,
Becomes another yesterday.
Written in part for the daily post one word prompt: Together
That one really pulls in the chest!

Great poem. Spoiled the mood a bit when ‘Fluffy Bunny’s Adventure Land’ showed up as a recommendation in ‘related reading’ though, lol!

Thanks and alas, that’s nothing to do with me, blame wordpress for the recommendations at the bottom of the page.😂

Yeah, I don’t like it. Seems to slow down the reader for me. I once read a blog post about writing a book and the recommendation was a chicken pie recipe…eh? lol

Another great Poem Drew, This one is pretty heavy. Almost felt the watery eyes sneaking in on me!
