The Friday Face-Off is a new meme created by Books by Proxy, where the idea is to compare the UK and US covers of a book with each week being a certain theme, this week’s theme is – This solitary tree! A living thing – a cover with a tree or trees.
Cover A:
Cover B:
Cover C:
Cover B:
This is my winner for the week, I really like the font and colour scheme of cover A and usually I would have picked that as the winner. But, there’s just something sinister that I really like about Cover B with the apple being pealed, revealing the writing inside.
Thoughts?? Agree?? Disagree??
Why not join in:
Next weeks theme: 7th October: Consumed by the darkness within, it hides all our sins” a cover that is predominantly black.

I agree! I really like Cover A’s colors. But that apple on Cover B is creepy and awesome! I don’t know, though… I still think overall I’d pick Cover A. 😉

Have to agree with you about the colouring on cover A, it’s a great scheme, though the sinister apple won it for me.
Thanks for commenting. 😀

You’re posting early and while at work. 😉 I wanted to read this book back when I started blogging and completely forgot about it. I agree with you on your cover choice. There’s definitely something wicked about that cover. It’s the reason I wanted to read the book months ago. Well, I guess this answers my email about today’s topic. 🙂 It occurred to me about an hour ago that I couldn’t do a face-off if I didn’t know the theme. 😂 And I can’t sleep so I thought why not. Lol

Yeah, it’s wicked and sinister, go apple! 😂 Yeah, I scheduled the post, go me for being organised! 😂

I gotta go with A, though B is also cool.

Love your choice and completely agree. I was really liking the first cover until I scrolled down and saw the second quite sinister version.
I’m out of the country at the moment which is why I’m not posting a cover this (or last week) but will catch up soon.

Totally agree, normally I’d have picked the first cover but then when I saw the sinister apple one, it just had to be. 😂

Hmm… I would go for Cover A as well, even thought I’d like it more if the human figure wasn’t there next to the tree… agree with the above comments that the the apple on Cover B is awesome!

Yeah, cover A would be better without the human figure have to agree with you there. 😀

I agree with you – they are all excellent covers – great choice of book, Drew:) but I think B is outstanding. I keep trying to read the inside of the apple peel…

True, it is a great cover, the writing in the peel has a sinister sort of meaning ‘I forgive you’ and ‘he was a good man’ it’s not a book I’ve read but all the covers make me want to read the book. 😀

Yet again, I completly agree. I really like cover A, but then I scrolled down and saw cover B. Sinister, yet simple. I love it!

Both A and B were very good choices but I had a slight preference for Cover A.

Most people seem to be veering towards A to. 😀

really Dig the Cover A & B , not so much love for C though 😦 .
meanwhile I feel like Cover A piques my interest more than B , but both the covers are pretty good looking

Totally agree with you about cover C, compared to both the others it sort of sucks abit. 😂

I love both A and B. They’re so beautiful! I don’t think I could choose!

They both really are good covers, the colours in A and the apple in B are both really good. 😀

I like A and B. The apple reminds me of Snow White.

I hadn’t thought of that, but your right. 😀

Cover B all day long. The others look very generic with lack of color. I wouldn’t bother picking them up to even check out the synopsis probably haha.

Deffo Cover B. It’s why I almost requested this one last year :’)

Agree with your pick!

I 100% agree with you. I love both covers but I love the writing on the pealing of the apple in Cover B. So Cover B it is.

Yeah, totally agree the writing just adds that extra touch touch. 😀

Cover B is awesome! I would definitely cover-buy this. 😀

I loved The Lie Tree. I adore cover B, but I think Cover A goes with the story better 😊

Cool, it’s not a book that I’ve read. 😂
