Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.  Each Wednesday you get to highlight a book that your really looking forward to. This week I’ve chosen:

The Mirror’s Truth by Michael R. Fletcher.

mirrortruth

Where belief defines reality, delusions are both strength and curse: The deeper you sink into madness the more powerful you become. But that power comes with a price. Your darkest nightmares hunt you at night. The face in the mirror hates you and wants to be free. Your fears manifest and plot your destruction.

Bedeckt defined himself by the list of crimes he was unwilling to commit. It was such a short list. How could straying from it have gone so wrong?

Now Bedeckt must undo the damage caused by wandering from his precious list. The Geborene god seeks to remake the world with his obsessive need for cleanliness and perfection, but Bedeckt is going to bring him down. Nothing can stop him. Not even death.

The two friends he abandoned in the Afterdeath chase after Bedeckt, bent on revenge. Psychotic assassins hunt him. Something cold and evil follows, lurking in the clouds above, shredding reality with its delusions. Madness and sanity war, stretching and tearing the very fabric of existence.

The dead shall rise.

    1. It’s the second book in the series following on from Beyond Redemption which was released last year, sadly it didn’t do well enough and the publisher didn’t pick up the sequel which is why the author is self-publishing but I would definitely recommend it as it’s a great dark and deluded read! 🙂

  1. I’m curious why he’s self publishing, wasn’t the first book published by Harper Voyager? In any case, very cool. I haven’t read Beyond Redemption but everyone raves about it. Must read!

    1. Yes, it was published and I think it was by Harper, it didn’t do well though and they didn’t pick the sequel up hence why he’s self publishing.

Beyond Redemption is a great read, though it’s very very grimdark in nature. 🙂

    1. The first one was published by Harper last year but the sequel didn’t get picked up by them so he author is self publishing. So, yes Jilly I am reading a indie book as I loved the first one last year! Ha, it’s a bare chest but look at the axe, all I saw was huge axe for carnage and gore! 🙂
