Teaser Tuesday · Various Things

Teaser Tuesday 11th October 2016.

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted on Books and a Beat.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Choice: Conspiracy of Ravens by Lila Bowen.

Page 42:

“I’m sleepy, lad. Let’s rest, then”.

“To hell with sleepy, donkey-boy . Better to travel at night and sleep when the sun is hottest . We’ll catch the Rangers faster. They’re bedded down now, so we keep going.”

Page 204:

“We should destroy them all,” Dan said. “In case he can track them or reawaken them.” Scooping up the trash , he threw it in the fire, where it burned as readily as anything else.

Book Blurb:

Nettie Lonesome made a leap — not knowing what she’d become. But now the destiny of the Shadow is calling.

A powerful alchemist is leaving a trail of dead across the prairie. And the Shadow must face the ultimate challenge: side with her friends and the badge on her chest or take off alone on the dangerous mission pulling her inexorably toward the fight of her life.

When it comes to monsters and men, the world isn’t black and white. What good are two wings and a gun when your enemy can command a conspiracy of ravens?

      1. did you know he once ran a poll on twitter when far cry came out that asked readers to decide whether they would pay a dollar to his charity (worldbuilder) to watch him play Far cry or pay 1 dollar to his charity so that he writes 100 pages for Doors of stones in 7 days and reads it . The audience apparently voted for farcry

  1. It sounds really intriguing, Drew… I like the idea of western/fantasy mashup. The nearest I reckon I’ve read was one of the Iron Druid books by Kevin Hearne. Whereas mine this week is allll western!
