Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Each Wednesday you get to highlight a book that your really looking forward to. This week I’ve chosen:
A Plague of Swords (traitor Son Cycle 4) by Miles Cameron.
ONE ENEMY HAS FALLEN
A GREATER ONE REMAINS
NOW IT’S WAR . . .
The Red Knight withstood the full might of his enemy, and won the day. In a victory which will be remembered through the ages, he brought disparate factions together and turned them into allies against a more powerful foe than they had ever seen.
Now, he will need his allies more than ever.
Because behind one adversary hid another – one with allies of their own – whose goal was never to destroy Alba, but to distract the Kingdom while achieving his true aim. And whatever it is, it’s probably not in the Red Knight’s interest.
With one army defeated, now the Red Knight must fight again . . . and for every one of his allies there is a corresponding enemy. Spread out in different lands, and on sea, it will all come down to one last gamble. And to whether or not the Red Knight has guessed their foe’s true intentions.
With each throw of the dice, everything could be lost . . .
The expected publication date is October 27th 2016 (UK). Not long to wait for this one, it’s out next week in-fact but I forgot to post this a few weeks ago and it has been waiting in my drafts for me to remember about it, which I did yesterday! 🙂

I just read decent fantasy books!😂 I’m probably repeating myself as I’m going to write yet again that it’s a great series.😀 It has a historical influence as the main characters are Knights compared to normal fantasy as and it works well giving it a different feel.😀

I got a review copy of this in the mail a few weeks back, but I still have the first 3 books to read before I can crack its spine.

This may be the best ongoing fantasy series right now, and it’s certainly my favorite.
I’m a big fan of the US covers for the series, but I love that UK cover.

It’s definitely one of the best series at the moment. I’ve never liked the US covers, I’m not sure why but there’s just something about the UK style I much prefer.

Hi, I’m the author, and while the US covers are OK, the UK covers have, for me, really caught the ‘spirit’ of the mythos I’m trying to realize…

A comment from the author, awesome, thanks for that, appreciate it.😀
I really like the UK covers, to me they have a classic type of look that fits the series well but also stands out as different compared to lots of other fantasy books out there, the UK cover really draws the eye.

Yes, agreed. Also it’s less ‘macho’. In fact, I try to write for all genders or none; I dislike the idea that there;s ‘male fantasy’ and ‘female fantasy.’ Or ‘military fantasy’. Or whatever 🙂

Alas, you probably won’t or you’ll catch up with this only to end up with other series then that need catching up on, it’s the bane of a book blogger and so many great fantasy series!😂

The UK covers for the whole series are great, the US covers are all very generic.

I think the UK won with this one in terms of the cover 🙂

Both of these covers are awful! 😂 What’s with fantasy books and weird covers? 🙈

I really like the UK cover, actually, I really like the UK covers for the whole series, I get they wouldn’t be to your taste but there different to alot of other fantasy series and the classic look goes well with the series. Whereas the shoddy US covers are just very generic.😂

It seems like I’m of the minority opinion in not liking the covers. 😂 I’m particular I guess.

Well, obviously they wouldn’t be to your taste as you do like covers with abs on them!😂

I kind of like the U.K. cover better! Wow, you guys get some of the prettier covers, and I don’t know why, 🤔

I don’t know either but it’s definitely true, alot of the time UK covers seem nicer, it’s confusing really.😀
