Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted on Books and a Beat.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Choice: A Plague of Swords (The Traitor Son Cycle Book 4) by Miles Cameron.
Page 6:
He saw the Etruscan officer at the edge of the circle, took note in his pallor, his posture, and beckoned. The man bowed.
“My Lord, we have found…” He paused. He was clearly shaken.
“Out with it!” Ablemont said impatiently.
The Etruscan shook his head. “You should see for yourself, my lord,” he said.
“Far?” Ablemont snapped.
“Half a league,” the crossbowman said. “My lord.”
Ablemont set his face. “Tell me first”.
“Corpses,” the Etruscan said.
Page 53:
“Why on earth would I go to Antica Terra?” Gabriel asked. “The seas are swarming with newly woken monsters and there’s still a war here. last I checked.”
Page 250:
“There,” Tom said, handing Gabriel back his sword. “Yer better already.”
Gabriel had to breathe a while. Someone brought him more ale. Remarkably it was the dragon’s girl, Bess She grinned at him.
“I’m not sure which one of us is the bad penny,” he said.
Tom laughed. “Bess is no better ‘an she ought to be,” he leered.
“Away wi’ ee, lady.” He leaned against the stone wall. “You looked terrible. Ye needed a fight an’ a fuck. I can only give ye the fight,” he went on.
Gabriel had to laugh, and he did.
Book Blurb:
One enemy has fallen … a greater one remains … now it’s war The Red Knight withstood the full might of his enemy and won the day. In a victory which will be remembered through the ages, he brought disparate factions together and turned them into allies against a more powerful foe than they had ever seen. Now, he will need his allies more than ever. Because behind one adversary hid another–one with allies of their own–whose goal was never to destroy Alba, but to distract the Kingdom while achieving his true aim. And whatever it is, it’s probably not in the Red Knight’s interest. With one army defeated, now the Red Knight must fight again–and for every one of his allies there is a corresponding enemy. Spread out in different lands, and on sea, it will all come down to one last gamble. And to whether or not the Red Knight has guessed their foe’s true intentions. With each throw of the dice, everything could be lost.
Unfortunately due to a virus or as it is more commonly known the dreaded ‘man flu’ my reading time has been non-existent these past few days and I’m sadly not very far into this book. But, I’m hoping to feel like reading once again in the coming few days and am looking forward to ploughing deeper into this epic book.

We don’t have to anoint him ourselves! Justin Bieber can do that because he’s so experienced with it anyways 😉

Manflu would be the ONLY reason you haven’t yet devoured this one, I’m guessing. Sorry to hear you’re smitten and hope you feel human again, very soon:(. And I’m now going to have to rush down to the library and nab this one! Thank you for sharing. Mine is also a stormingly good fantasy by a brilliant author – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/11/01/teaser-tuesday-1st-november-2016/
