The Playlist Shuffle Tag.

pltag

I was tagged for this tag by Danielle over at Books Tea and Vertigo and instead of doing anything constructive with my time like writing a book review, heaven forbid as,well, you know, book blog! πŸ™‚ I decided that I would do this instead as music is also awesome and I’m always happy to share my tunes with people out there! If you don’t already follow her then I’d also suggest going and visiting Danielle’s blog after having your ears shredded by the following tuneage!

Here are the rules:

  • List the first 10Β 12 songs that come on shuffle (no skipsies)
  • Then write your favorite lyric (or verse) from that song *if it’s worth to mention*
  • Tag others

I’m generally a rock and metal fan so expect the following songs to be from that genre as while I do listen to some other stuff to, I have far more songs from those two genres in my music library.

On a side note, when I posted this all the videos were working, if they somehow stop, don’t hate the player, hate the game and blame wordpress not me. πŸ™‚

1). Storm by Saliva.

“I’ve opened my heart to see there’s nobody home.
It’s up to me, I’m own my own.
The message of life is turning
Facing the storm”

2). Locust by Machine Head.

“Surrender, these veins are bled. Devoured, nothing sacred. Strings pull the marionettes.
See how they dance upon the winds that beget our pestilence”

3). What have You Done by Within Temptation featuring Keith Caputo.

“Would you mind if I hurt you?
Understand that I need to
Wish that I had other choices
than to harm the one I love
What have you done now”

4). Hard To See by Five Finger Death Punch.

“I’m growing so distant
Nothing makes sense to me anymore
I’m learning to resist
Becoming more than you ever were”

5). Open Your Eyes by Alter Bridge.

“I love the way I feel today
But how I know the sun will fade
Darker days seem to be
What will always live in me
But still I run

It’s hard to walk this path alone
Hard to know which way to go
Will I ever save this day
Will it ever change”

6). Heart In Your Hands by Wearing Scars.

“And now the years go by The hurt resides I can’t stand the pain Forever lost in life Alone tonight β€˜cos I can’t turn back time”

7). Hold Back The Time by Any Given Day.

“Time is no healer time is a thieve
Nothing lasts forever except our memories”

8). We Carry On by Killswitch Engage.

“Heal these wounds to break the skin again”

9). A Reason by Misery Escape.

“Standing on the edge of this world
Waiting for the last goodbye
Cry for life in this blackened world

Give me a reason to close my eyes
I crave for angels until my world dies”

10). Hurt by Johnny Cash.

“Everyone I know goes away
In the end”

11). Temerian Castle Theme from The Witcher 3 OST.

12). The Unforgiven II by Metallica.

“What I’ve felt, what I’ve known
Sick and tired, I stand alone
Could you be there? ‘Cause I’m the one who waits for you
Or are you unforgiven, too?”

Well, there you have it, a look at my tastes in music and some tunes that I hadn’t listened to for a while so thanks Danielle for tagging me. I had a great time listening to the songs while doing this tag. πŸ™‚

I tag anyone who wants to do this tag to do it, go on people show us your tunes!

And as I’m such a nice guy and like to offer my opinion on music, Inge if you read this tag, I remember from the comments section of yours that you like Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, well, here’s the Godsmack cover version and it’s awesome!

    1. Shocked?!?! I like music with sad and meaningful lyrics, hence the poetry I attempt to write is similar and I attempt to include meaning in it.

Thanks, I like music and have lots and lots of songs, some good, some not so good but luckily I got an awesome list to listen to.πŸ€˜πŸ˜€

  1. I knew you had good tunes here Drew… πŸ™‚
I love Godsmack by the way, especially their older stuff… I used to annoy my flatmates at boarding school with Godsmack.. lo and behold, they started to like it! πŸ˜€

  2. Awesome list Drew! \m/ \m/ I love Godsmack, no rest for the wicked! πŸ˜€ It’s funny how YouTube is telling me the video of Within Temptation cannot be watched in my country, while it’s a Dutch band for crying out loud :D. Love seeing the Johnny Cash song amidst the headbanger’s ball btw πŸ˜‰

    1. Ha, of course it’s an awesome list, did you really expect anything less!πŸ˜‚πŸ€˜

Ha, that’s funny that a Dutch band can’t be played in their own country, damn YouTube nearly as many issues as wordpress!πŸ˜‚

That Johnny Cash cover version is epic!🀘

    1. Ha, yeah, it was ages ago, probably one of the first poems I posted but I remember it to, I think the poem was called Nameless that you said sounded like Metallica.πŸ˜€

Ah, well, it was songs at random and Flaw didn’t come on, I do have loads and loads of songs though so it’s no real surprise – had to listen to some Flaw after the 12 songs for this tag though.πŸ˜‚

  3. I am familiar with almost all of these bands! I am happy Hurt popped up on your tag because I have been meaning to put it on my iPod for a long time and never remember. A million thanks for sharing the Godsmack cover of Nothing Else Matters. I had never heard it before and it’s brilliant! I will be off on a wild hunt for that piano arrangement. Your playlist was much more cohesive than mine. Doing this tag reminded me why I never listen to my iPod on shuffle. Ha ha. πŸ™‚

    1. Ha, mine was cohesive as I mainly only listen to rock and metal, I have some other genre of songs but I have so many songs there was a good chance when I did the tag that it’d all just be rock and metal and it was, surprisingly all songs I liked to.πŸ˜‚

Hurt is an amazing song, I’m not really a fan of the NIN original but the Johnny Cash version just really gets to me.

True, that Godsmack Nothing Else Matters cover is awesome.🀘
