A Poem: Echo.

echo

It’s been a long and twisting road,

The labours of life lay heavy on my mind,

But now I see the end of my journey,

A new start is calling,

To new beginnings,

To a life with meaning,

How can you say you know me,

When I don’t know my self,

How can you say you feel me,

When I don’t feel myself,

As I’m breaking down,

I’m breaking down inside,

While all my fears collide,

And, I can’t let go,

No, I can’t let go,

Of this echo,

My pictures of the past have faded,

With the devil my feelings were traded,

Memories of these days have left and gone away,

To leave me numb,

With no time to think,

I had dreams,

But no one would care,

No one would dare to hear me,

How can you say you love me,

When I don’t love myself,

How can you say you believe in me,

When I don’t believe in myself,

As I’m breaking down,

I’m breaking down inside,

While all my fears collide,

And, I can’t let go,

No, I can’t let go,

Of this echo,

Here this now,

A prayer to guide me on my way,

To start to live,

To again feel,

But I can’t,

No I won’t,

Well I guess I should,

Maybe if I could,

Just let go of my past,

It is done with,

It cannot hurt me anymore,

It won’t stop me now,

It won’t drag me down,

Now you can know me,

As I finally know myself,

Now you can feel me,

As I finally feel myself,

Now you can love me,

As I finally love myself,

Now you can say you believe in me,

As I finally believe in myself,

And, I can let go,

I CAN LET GO,

OF THIS ECHO.
