The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy, where the idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
I only occasionally do the Face-Off nowadays after creating my own 200 Words or Less Friday feature (which has been absent these last few weeks due to my never-ending love affair with that mistress, procrastination).
The Face-Off however is a meme that I have always enjoyed as I find it cool to look at the various covers from different countries.
This weeks theme is: Rabbit “The rabbit of Easter. he bring of the chocolate”.
Now, my choice this week will most likely be very popular amongst others who do the Face-Off, you have my sincere apologies if this is not the first time that you are seeing this choice of book today! I had to participate this week as, well…..my blog logo is a wolf (complete with bloody teeth) and wolves eat rabbits!
My choice this week is Watership Down by Richard Adams and I offer you a choice of 30 covers from various different countries and years, so from across time and space! 🙂

With giving you such a large selection I have picked four as my favourites, Covers I, J, O and P.
Thoughts?? Agree?? Disagree??
Looking at the covers, I am a WWE fan and I couldn’t help but notice the similarity between Eric Rowan’s (Wyatt Family) sheep mask and the rabbit on cover M!!! Now he’s been drafted to Raw maybe Bray can get a new member, and use the rabbit on the cover for inspiration for a new member mask, the sinister rampant rabid rabbit or perhaps Bad Ass Big Boy Bunny! 🙂
Before I leave (the post, not blogging so don’t worry) I’d be remiss if in a post featuring rabbits, I didn’t include these two classic rabbit characters, Bucky O’Hare and Bugs Bunny, so here’s a picture of each.

Sorry kids, but I cannot choose.
I love them all of these covers!
Thank you, Drew, for putting this collection together and taking us down Memory Lane.
I love animals. This book makes me think of rabbits, not bunnies.

Fab bunny face off! I didn’t realise there would be so many covers for this, but then it’s nearly 40 years old. I agree with your choices and would like to add CC to them 🙂

Lol, though I have to agree, I wouldn’t want to eat rabbit, then again I’m not entirely down with eating any sort of splat/roadkill!😂

I completely agree with all of your choices…I love the silhouette of the two bunnies, and Cover P(?) looks like a cool horror novel with those branches shaped like a bunny and that moon.
I have never read this book, so I don’t know what matches the insides. 🤷♀️
I see you have a mistress! Tell Procrastination I said hi! (We had a falling out when Diligence came knocking)

I’m pretty sure H and W match the inside of the book the best, it’s been years and years since I’ve seen the film but I vaguely remember cover H occurring in the film so it must resemble the book.
Yeah, I have a Mistress, damn procrastination is a killer.lol I’m not sure how she’s actually a Mistress though seens as I don’t actually have a relationship to have a Mistress!😂

Maybe your wife is lethargy, and you’re seeing procrastination on the side? I was in a LTR with procrastination but it seems I was left for you. Now I’m stuck with loneliness and he makes a horrible cuddler.

Lol, lethargy, I’m more common than that so it’d be classed to ‘can’t be arsed’. Oh right, that’s nice I see, loneliness is cheating on me then, I wondered where it went when I sleep, now I know, America!😂

Oh my goodness! WHAT a superb selection, Drew:)). It’s far easier to tell you the covers I DON’T like… Cover I and cover X. In cover I, it looks as though the bunny has escaped from the Zombie Hopocalypse, whilst in cover X, he’s simply having hysterics. Someone give him a rabbit punch! And also thank you for reviving many happy memories – my son was absolutely obsessed by Bucky O’Hare when he was a lot littler than he is now and as for Bugs Bunny – who doesn’t LOVE ol’ Bugsy? Thank you for your Easter extravaganza, Drew!

Hopocalypse, I like it!😀
Ah, awesome, I liked Bucky O’Hare when I was a lot younger too, agree with you about Bugs, I’m not sure there’s anyone who doesn’t like him, there’s bound to be some out there though, not sure why they wouldn’t like him though.😀
It was definitely a selection, most covers in a face-off post yet.😂

I like your choices – I really like the cover with the trees and the sun that creates the rabbits eye. I must admit there were a lot of covers for this one and I just had had enough after about 11.
Unbelievably I actually found a book about hollow chocolate bunnies! But I’ve read this so preferred to go with that.

Yeah, I’d read this to, many many years ago.lol

Wow, I had no idea this book had so many covers! I like the choices you made for your top 4, especially cover I and Cover P. I own a copy that has cover A on it and am really looking forward to reading it for the first time sometime soon (hopefully). So many books on my TBR list and never enough time. The bane of every reader. 😛

Lol, that is so very true, always too many books and not enough time, then they go and release even more books too!😂

I had no idea there were so many covers haha. I guess I am opting with “H” as it promotes the most appropriate feel for me with this one, but still a tough call! You had some great picks as well.

I believe my favourites would be D and P for completely different reasons! I’ve heard good things about this classic, but I have yet to read it. :O But I definitely like the amount of variety in this. So many covers for one book! I wonder what book has the most variations across time and space!

It’s a good book, read it when I was younger. Definitely a lot of covers, think I went a bit overboard.lol
I haven’t a clue what book would have the most covers across time and space, I wouldn’t even hazard a guess.😂

Covers I and K are the ones I remember from way back when. I also think they’re the best – stylistically. Good post Drew
