I’m a Rockstar Tag

Hey yo! Today I bring to you all a tag that has absolutely nothing to do with books, I know, something unrelated to books on a book blog, sacrilegious!

I was tagged for the I’m a Rockstar tag by Liz over at Cover to Cover. I’m fairly sure that most of you will already know and follow Liz by now, but if not, crazies! Shakes head at you! Then go and check out her blog, she has quality reviews and is a great and fun blogger too. πŸ™‚

I’m a Rockstar Tag:

What is the name of your band, or if you are a solo artist, your stage name (example: Lady Ga Ga, Snoop Dog, Puddles the Clown, etc…)?

My band name would be Through the Storm.

SacrificE (1)

What genre or style of music are you known for?

Similar to Liz, METAL!!!!! Fuck yeah!!!!! Nu-metal, Hard Rock, Thrash Metal, Groove Metal, Djent, Alternative Metal. Similar sounding to Flaw, Five Finger Death Punch, Any Given Day, Machine Head, Cold and Demon Hunter.

What instrument do you play or are you the lead singer?

Whilst shredding the axe as the lead guitarist akin to Mark Tremonti and Slash certainly would be cool. I’d have to go with being the lead singer, I dabble in rhyming poetry so it wouldn’t be too far away to change that to lyrics, so yeah, the singer!

If you could be the opening act for any band currently touring who would it be?

Obviously, any one of those horrid whiny bands with lead singers who sound like girls, Pierce the Veil and Falling In Reverse – I’m looking at you et al! Really loud and heavy music and then the dude starts singing and sounds like he hasn’t any balls, vile!Β

I’d say Guns N’ Roses. I know they’ve been touring recently with Duff and Slash back with Axl and I think it would be pretty fucking cool to open for a legendary band like them.

Who would you name as your musical inspiration? This person can be currently breathing, or not.

Chris Volz from Flaw. He has such a unique voice and range and can go from screaming to such emotive clean singing. He is also a master lyricist, a poet who writes thought-provoking, deep, meaningful and poignant lyrics that just bleed emotion.

Not Enough:

Wake up your life
You may never get the chance to make things right
Rather than lie
Take a moment to reflect on what’s gone by
It’s a mistake
There’s no reason I should be so full of guilt
Significant break
So you severed all the ties that we have built

All I know, even though
Tried to give you what was left of me
But it was not enough
Didn’t think about the rest of me
That it was not enough
Tried my hardest with the best of me
But it was not enough
Tried to give you what was left of me
But it was not enough

All mixed up inside
And it’s easy to forget what we should be
It’s useless to hide
I can see to the heart of your insecurity
All of this time
Blaming others for the cause of what we’ve lost
Nothing sublime
I must overcome no matter what the cost

Please give back what s not yours to have
It’s the only thing that I’ve got left
Never was enough to satisfy
And I’m left empty

Tried to give you what was left of me
But it was not enough
Didn’t think about the rest of me
That it was not enough
Tried my hardest with the best of me
But it was not enough

Fatal Fall:

There’s far too many people waiting for the end to come
This just is not the case
Divided by the same beliefs that seem to end as one
It’s such a bitter taste

I’m trying to save you from a fatal fall
‘Cause I don’t think that you can take it
You gotta stop before you lose it all
And find the strength so you can make it

I know it feels as though inside you are the only one
Who’s ever felt disgraced
Deep down the hurt inside is crying out
It’s just begun at such a rapid pace
You’ve started acting like the world has slowly come undone
It’s such a lonely place
I know it feels as though inside you are the only one
That is just is not the case

I’m trying to save you from a fatal fall
‘Cause I don’t think that you can take it
You gotta stop before you lose it all
And find the strength so you can make it

How can I just sit by with all the things I’ve seen?
I’ve gotta save your life with every ounce of me
This is our final try to raise your self-esteem
A new start and a new day so wash it clean

I’m trying to save you from a fatal fall
‘Cause I don’t think that you can take it
You gotta stop before you lose it all
And find the strength so you can make it

What special item do you ask for in your dressing room on a tour contract rider?

A harem of fine scantily clad nubile maidens! Well, wishful thinking! – before anyone dares to chime off about sexism and my objectification of women, go and look at the covers of all those smut books with male abs on them that you read!

But in today’s PC society I’ll go for a PS4 and a supply of wine gums, how very rock and roll!

What item from home do you pack in your suitcase to take on tour?

I’d have to agree with Liz on this one and go with the same answer as her (sorry Liz) but yeah, pictures/photographs. They hold memories of times and of people/pets either still around or sadly gone.

What does your stage attire look like?

Jeans or jorts (cut-off jeans for the summer), t-shirt, trainers and in the winter a cut-off and sleeveless shirt over the t-shirt and a hat (it gets cold with no hair). Just normal attire! Absolutely no spandex, barf!Β

What backstage nickname have the roadies given you based on your personality?

Fuck knows! Probably asshole or cunt!!!

Hopefully something like Shy (as I’m a quiet person) or DJ (my middle names are David John). There are some god awful and ghastly nicknames out there so I’d prefer something halfway decent rather than horrid and terrible!

Every successful Rockstar has a special charity. What’s yours?

There would be two, one for Terminal Cancer (my father died from it) and one for abandoned and mistreated pets (dogs and cats).

What is the title of your memoir going to be?

Something weird like: JUCPGFY. Which stands for: Jumped – Up – Cunts – Please – Go – Fuck – Yourselves.

Or something more meaningful like: These Scars are Mine.

I tag anyone who has an interest in music and wants to do this tag, have at it!!! πŸ™‚

  1. woopwoop, well done for doing the tag.. it was mighty fun wasn’t it? πŸ™‚
Great answers too.. I really need to check out Flaw a bit more.. I recall taking them for a #test drive’ some while back based on your rec and I recall liking them.. so I need to make time, get the sound up to a decent decibel and just enjoy πŸ™‚

    hahaha, Pierce the Veil πŸ˜€

      1. yes! you can’t believe how many new rock/metal bands I have quit on the minute I heard the vocals… the vocals are just too important.. they either fit with the instrumental or not… totally fussy! πŸ˜€

      2. Yes! absolutely yes! I agree.. there are all these news ones coming out with their horrible lyrics.. I mean, sure you can sing, but it just doesn’t fit!!! πŸ˜€

  2. I cannot even began to emphasise just how much I was rolling my eyes when you started talking about the ‘god awful’ and ‘ghastly’ nicknames out there and wanting something half way decent after the names you’ve given me πŸ˜›
Awesome answers, though! I’ve never heard of Flaw but they sound pretty good. I’m always on the look out for new music to listen so gonna check more of their stuff out! The way you described their singer’s voice put me in mind of Dir en grey’s singer, Kyo. His vocal range is pretty impressive too. Their stuff is pretty heavy (their newer stuff anyway, last ten years or so) and while it’s in Japanese, you still feel the emotion in the words πŸ™‚ Very intense stuff!

    1. Oh do you like metal and stuff like that?! And there I thought you liked Bieber and Bubble and all that sh#t!πŸ˜‚

I’ll have to check that band out! Flaw are awesome!

Yeah, but…….that’s a nickname for me! I don’t want to horrid name, awful names for other people are fun, especially if I made them up!πŸ˜‚

      1. I might not look it, but I am indeed a metal fan!
If you check out their albums, I recommend for someone like you starting at ‘The Marrow of a Bone’ and moving onward from there πŸ™‚ It just gets progressively heavier from there.
You can dish out the names but can’t take them πŸ˜›

  3. hahahaha I absolutely love the title of your memoir- I’d love you to actually write that one day then I could have an excuse to use that as the title of one one of my reviews (all in caps of course) hahaa PC culture is the reason I love singing Money for Nothing at the top of my lungs whenever I listen to it πŸ˜‰ Seriously, I’m a woman, and I don’t get the argument about “ughh the objectification of women is evil… but wow look at those abs”- can’t we just admire the people we’re attracted to in peace?! (hehe I feel like I come on your blog to rant these days!! It’s just such an irritating thing for me!) Anyway awesome post!!

    1. Ha, I’m happy for you to come on my blog and rant, it’s fun and you agree with me which makes it better!

Yeah, women objectification = bad according to the feminazi’s but then it’s feminazi’s see Studley and his abs and they get moist and wanting! And they think that’s fine, nope, if objectifying women is wrong then objectifying men is too, or just say f#ck it and perve over whoever!πŸ˜‚

I thought someone might chime off as I included a picture hence my statement afterwards to ward off any nonsense!πŸ˜‚

I tell you, I’ve wrote a few rant posts and I’m hoping that someone takes offence to something just so I can use the memoir name as a blog post title, it’d be epic!

      1. hehe I’m glad!!

So so true!!! πŸ˜‚ haha yeah they love using the term “double standard” until it applies to them, then they shriek “PRIVILEGE” to drown out all the logic πŸ˜‰ (also love that you use the term feminazi as well πŸ˜‰ )

        hahahah πŸ˜‚

hehehehe oh that would be brilliant!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Sometimes I feel like my posts are bait, but they never normally go for the ones I expect πŸ˜‰ They’ll come knocking eventually, the PC brigade always do πŸ˜‰

      2. I like the term feminazi, it’s awesome, I tried it at work and alas, other people liked it! Gutted, was hoping for the PC brigade to chime off

I’ll just have to try harder and look for more subjects that everyone loves to rant about!πŸ˜‚

  4. Five Finger Death Punch! A favourite of my boyfriend πŸ™‚
Opening for Guns n’ Roses.. that would be sweet – and you’d have a pretty big audience! I saw them live this year in February in Melbourne. Was awesome, I was so impressed, I thought Axl wouldn’t be able to move around as much^^ But he proved me wrong.

  5. Pwahahaha I had a blast reading this one XD Yours and Liz’s, of course!
And “harem of fine scantily clad nubile maidens” sounds like the most epic description ever (although I think PS4 and wine gums are much better – just imagine how much you’d have to put up with that many women! It would be a massacre! Guys never think about that.)
