I’m a Rockstar Tag

Hey yo! Today I bring to you all a tag that has absolutely nothing to do with books, I know, something unrelated to books on a book blog, sacrilegious!

I was tagged for the I’m a Rockstar tag by Liz over at Cover to Cover. I’m fairly sure that most of you will already know and follow Liz by now, but if not, crazies! Shakes head at you! Then go and check out her blog, she has quality reviews and is a great and fun blogger too. 🙂

I’m a Rockstar Tag:

What is the name of your band, or if you are a solo artist, your stage name (example: Lady Ga Ga, Snoop Dog, Puddles the Clown, etc…)?

My band name would be Through the Storm.

What genre or style of music are you known for?

Similar to Liz, METAL!!!!! Fuck yeah!!!!! Nu-metal, Hard Rock, Thrash Metal, Groove Metal, Djent, Alternative Metal. Similar sounding to Flaw, Five Finger Death Punch, Any Given Day, Machine Head, Cold and Demon Hunter.

What instrument do you play or are you the lead singer?

Whilst shredding the axe as the lead guitarist akin to Mark Tremonti and Slash certainly would be cool. I’d have to go with being the lead singer, I dabble in rhyming poetry so it wouldn’t be too far away to change that to lyrics, so yeah, the singer!

If you could be the opening act for any band currently touring who would it be?

Obviously, any one of those horrid whiny bands with lead singers who sound like girls, Pierce the Veil and Falling In Reverse – I’m looking at you et al! Really loud and heavy music and then the dude starts singing and sounds like he hasn’t any balls, vile! 

I’d say Guns N’ Roses. I know they’ve been touring recently with Duff and Slash back with Axl and I think it would be pretty fucking cool to open for a legendary band like them.

Who would you name as your musical inspiration? This person can be currently breathing, or not.

Chris Volz from Flaw. He has such a unique voice and range and can go from screaming to such emotive clean singing. He is also a master lyricist, a poet who writes thought-provoking, deep, meaningful and poignant lyrics that just bleed emotion.

What special item do you ask for in your dressing room on a tour contract rider?

A harem of fine scantily clad nubile maidens! Well, wishful thinking! – before anyone dares to chime off about sexism and my objectification of women, go and look at the covers of all those smut books with male abs on them that you read!

But in today’s PC society I’ll go for a PS4 and a supply of wine gums, how very rock and roll!

What item from home do you pack in your suitcase to take on tour?

I’d have to agree with Liz on this one and go with the same answer as her (sorry Liz) but yeah, pictures/photographs. They hold memories of times and of people/pets either still around or sadly gone.

What does your stage attire look like?

Jeans or jorts (cut-off jeans for the summer), t-shirt, trainers and in the winter a cut-off and sleeveless shirt over the t-shirt and a hat (it gets cold with no hair). Just normal attire! Absolutely no spandex, barf! 

What backstage nickname have the roadies given you based on your personality?

Fuck knows! Probably asshole or cunt!!!

Hopefully something like Shy (as I’m a quiet person) or DJ (my middle names are David John). There are some god awful and ghastly nicknames out there so I’d prefer something halfway decent rather than horrid and terrible!

Every successful Rockstar has a special charity. What’s yours?

There would be two, one for Terminal Cancer (my father died from it) and one for abandoned and mistreated pets (dogs and cats).

What is the title of your memoir going to be?

Something weird like: JUCPGFY. Which stands for: Jumped – Up – Cunts – Please – Go – Fuck – Yourselves.

Or something more meaningful like: These Scars are Mine.
