Welcome once again to Music Monday where I offer you all a song that I really like. If anyone wants to join in then please feel free to have a go! 🙂
Staind: Outside (acoustic).
And you can bring me to my knees
And all this time that I could beg you please
And all the times that I felt insecure for you
And I leave my burdens at the door
But I’m on the outside, I’m looking in
I can see through you, see your true colors
‘Cause inside you’re ugly, you’re ugly like me
I can see through you, see to the real you
All this time that I felt like this won’t end
It was for you and I taste what I could never have it’s from you
All those times that I tried my intentions were full of pride
And I waste more time than anyone
But I’m on the outside and I’m looking in
I can see through you, see your true colors
‘Cause inside you’re ugly, you’re ugly like me
I can see through you, see to the real you
All the times that I’ve cried, all this wasted it’s all inside
And I feel all this pain stuffed it down it’s back again
And I lie here in bed all alone I can’t mend
But I feel tomorrow will be okay
But I’m on the outside and I’m looking in
I can see through you, see your true colors
‘Cause inside you’re ugly, you’re ugly like me
I can see through you, see to the real you

So weird, I set my post up with this song for today, then at the last minute changed my mind to something else! This is a cracking song! I don’t think I will ever get bored with it.

I know, it’s such an awesome song even all these years later, great lyrics, everything.

😲 I’m absolutely freaked out right now. I am floored. Seeing Claires comment and the fact that your post is this song is unbelievable because I was singing this song last night at the drive in and had every intention of using this for Music Monday today. Somehow the three of us were mentally connected on this. I can’t believe it. Anyhow, great choice!

It truly is a great song, absolutely love it.

Great song from my youth. I remember chilling to this and some Seether tracks back in the day.

Youth?! Ha! I was far younger when it was released too. Though truth be told I didn’t realise that it was quite so old as it is!

I get that sometimes. It’s strange heading certain songs and then realising that I was listening to them 15+years ago.

Oh I fell in love with Staind when I saw them live (years ago). Aaron Lewis has some serious talent. And this song is just stunning.. I remember they played the acoustic version at the Blitz Bash and it was pouring rain and just perfect!

Seeing them live, awesome!🤘
The acoustic version definitely is stunning, I like the normal version but the acoustic one is so much better and emotional, just awesome.👌

I agree! It was truly one of the most emotional experiences I have had at a concert 🙂
