Friday Face-Off September 29th: A cover featuring a heart.

face off

The Friday Face-Off is a meme created by Books by Proxy, where the idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.

This weeks theme is:

I tried to keep it all inside,
Locked the demons in my mind,
But they tore me apart,
Escaped through my tattered heart”

A cover featuring a heart.

My Choice:

The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker

Before the book covers here is the song Hellraiser by Motorhead.

The Covers

A real eclectic mix of the 18 covers!!! But for me I pick these two:

Thoughts?? Agree?? Disagree?? Fans of the Hellraiser films??

  1. No shitty Monday; so I can do this!
I saw “heart” and immediately got stuck with “I tear my heart open; I sew myself shut” and I’m hearing that live tonight soooo, getting in the mood already.

Creepy covers, though. I’m not really one to read / watch horror and those all scream horror. :’)

  2. I eagerly opened this post when I saw the word ‘heart’, fully expecting some romance covers after your recent posts 😦
Still, these covers are sufficient in their awesomeness! I’ve never read or watched Hellraiser. It’s about a dude with things in his face, right? Hmmm I think your choices are good, but I think I also like 13 and 18 too!

      1. I know you’re letting your ‘bad boy’ image slip so I thought this would be the ultimate sign! To see just how far you’d fallen 😛 You’ve redeemed yourself somewhat, though!
Pinhead? If they’re nails, shouldn’t he be called ‘Nailhead’? :S I wouldn’t know, aren’t these books, like, ancient? 😛 I’m just a young sproglet after all!

      2. Yeah, you have a point about the nails! Though Pinhead is an iconic character so, it is what it is! 🙂

Yeah, they are quite old, young Sproggy wouldn’t have even been a thought when the first film or book were released! 🙂 Though I refute ancient! Things from the 1980’s are not ancient! 😦

  3. Wow, I love a good horror book cover and some horror novels and films too, though I’m more into the creepy scary stuff not the overly gruesome blood and guts stuff, lol 🙂 Great covers and I love the one you picked on the right…what language is that?

    1. I have no idea! I’m not very good with languages and Goodreads doesn’t say which country it is only the publisher (unless I’m just not looking in the right place on there).

Ha, he creepy stuff.😂 I have to say that horror doesn’t scare me, I’m more likely to laugh regardless of the type of horror than be scared but the creepy, eerie stuff is definitely better for scaring than the blood and gore though the blood and gore does have some killer characters like Freddy and Jason.
