Welcome once again to Music Monday where I offer you all a song that I really like. If anyone wants to join in then please feel free to have a go! π
As it is Christmas Day next Monday and then New Years Day the following Monday Music Monday is taking a fortnight break and will be back on the 8th of January.Β
Seether ft Amy Lee: Broken.
I wanted you to know
That I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph
And I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t wanna feel right
When you’re gone awayYou’ve gone awayYou’ve gone away
You don’t feel me here anymoreThe worst is over now
And we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high and steal my pain away
There’s so much left to learn
And no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone awayYou’ve gone away
You don’t feel me anymore
Taken from the album: Disclaimer II (2002).
As Music Monday is taking a fortnight break here is a festive song for you all:
X-M@$ by Corey Taylor.
Ho Ho Ho Ho!
Jesus
There ain’t nothing more depressing than a pine tree
Gussied up with candy canes and balls
Those carolers have kept me up for hours
It’s Merry Christmas seeping through my walls
Now I’m no wiccan commie nut or nothing
But there’s one damn holiday that I can’t stand
It ain’t Halloween or Thanksgiving or even April Fools
But it’ll surely make a fool out of every man
HaIf I ain’t drunk then it ain’t Christmas
You know where to stick those jingle bells
If I ain’t hammered it ain’t hanukkah
And all you motherfuckers go to hell
If I ain’t cockeyed then it ain’t Kwanzaa
Joy to the world and jack and coke
If I ain’t drunk then it ain’t Christmas
Cause I ain’t never anything but brokeNow every year the malls are just a madhouse
Full of empty pockets, thoughts and smiles
Just the smell of Eggnog makes me vomit
And those colored lights are fucking infantile
I think we collectively as a people
Should rise against this corporate jolly noise
And tell the world:
“Let’s buy some peace and quiet for a change”
Before we spend it all on fucking toys.
HaSo if I ain’t drunk then it ain’t Christmas
You know where to stick those jingle bells
If I ain’t hammered it ain’t hanukkah
Fa la la la la go fuck yourself!
If I ain’t cockeyed it ain’t Kwanzaa
Joy to the world of getting stoned
If I ain’t drunk then it ain’t Christmas
So leave this god damn scrooge the fuck alone.
HaMerry fucking christmas!
(Hi Simon!)

I LOVE Seether! Great choice today. LOL on the Christmas share. β€ I'm sad that I won't get to check your Music Mondays for a few weeks! I'm still planning on posting those days I think. If we don't chat, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Drew! Looking forward to 2018. π

If you do post on those days then that’s perfectly fine with me. I doubt many people will be blogging on Christmas day which is why I’m not posting but I may well go back on what I write and post on New Year’s.π I’ll probably be listening to music later in the week and think ‘oh, that’ll be great for Music Monday’ and draft a post up.lol
Even if I don’t post I’ll still check out other bloggers Music Monday posts anyway but thank you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too.π

You’re probably right about nobody posting on Christmas, lol. π I might break as well. β€ Thanks! π ππ

Oh man “Broken” takes me back! I still love that song and their duet is amazing. Interestingly it was on the Punisher soundtrack way back when. Nice post π

Damn, The Punisher soundtrack, not to surprising as lots of soundtracks from back then were mostly rock/metal songs.
It takes me back too! I often forget how old it is!π

HAHA and Boom we did it! Posting the same song on the same day!
But you did kind of cheat posting two songs! I love that Seether song as well, bloody fantastic tune!

Lmao!πππ
I refute the cheating allegation! It’s wasn’t me guv’nor onest!πππ
I merely added a Christmas song as I won’t be posting next week as it’s bah humbug day. Though I’ll probably post in New Year’s which is going back on what I wrote at the top of the post but I’m likely to be listening to music and think oh, Music Monday and I’ll be drafting a post up before I know it or I could just reschedule one of the many I’ve got scheduled.π
It is an awesome song, so good and 15 years old! I mean seriously, where the f#ck does the time go as I can still remember it being released!π

Broken is a good song. I like it because of the lyrics and the fact that it features Amy Lee.

Never seen it?! Oh man, best Xmas song ever!π€π
Ah, it’s cool to still post it. Claire (brizzlelassbooks) posted Broken a couple of months ago so I’m repeating her choice anyway but as you say great minds. Shows that we all have great taste in music.π€π
Thanks, same to you and here’s to a great 2018.

It is a classic and yeah, they aren’t big in the UK but Broken was constantly played over here when it was released. I often forget it was released 15 years ago, all you young bloggers would be like 5!ππ

Hey! For your information I was at least ten 15 years ago! I can’t believe it’s been that long! Seether and Evanescence were huuuuge, I was a big fan of Amy Lee; her vocals are amazing!

At least ten, ah, that must have been a big birthday reaching double figures!π
I got told that it was actually released in 2004 so only 13 near 14 years ago not 15 but it’s ages! It’s one of those songs where you don’t realise it’s been around for so many years!

Oh haha, you are oh so funny! π Well then I was over 10 then! Ha-ha! π
But I agree this song doesn’t feel that old, but it also has that early 2000s sound and feel to it at the same time.

I am, thank you!π Wow, over ten, a grown-up, you have to act mature then! Yes, I’m fully aware that I don’t act grown-up on my blog!π

HA! Oh yes very much a grown up, maybe you can learn from my ten-year-old maturity!! ππ

Awesome, I can but try! Maybe you could write a blog post on it!?π€π

Haha, it’s possible, or we could collaborate, pool our oh-so mature minds together. π
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ha!ππ I’d be down with that! It could be fun you’d have to be the mature one though as it’s obvious I fail at maturity!π

HA! I figured as much! π We should have some sort of banter back and forth about what constitutes as mature and how to act mature. Here’s my email and we can discuss further

Constitutes? Oh my, big words are definitely mature! π
Cool, I shall send you an email, I will think of some sort of mature subject for the email! π

It is a great song, both versions are fantastic but I have to give it to the duet. Not sure I’d describe it as beautiful though, not a word we use on my blog to describe things.π
