The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This weeks theme is: “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” – a Psychedelic cover.
My choice is:
Jakob’s Colours by Lindsay Hawdon.
I really liked a couple of these covers and feel that they embody the book perfectly (the colours play a large role in the story, it’s a fantastic book and if you haven’t read it then I urge you to check out my review) but the winning cover for me is:
And it fits the theme too! Awesome!
Thoughts?? Agree?? Disagree??

Fab choice for the theme! I really like the one with the boy and the plane but of course it’s not psychedelic enough. If I can find a cover that fits I might join in again today.

I’m not sure this is really psychedelic as it’s not very trippy or weird but the colours made me think of the theme and it’s a fantastic book too so it sort of scrapes in with the colours.😂😂😂

Not much of a difference between the first and fourth cover… Lol But the differences are the quotes on the cover, and that’s actually what makes me like the fourth cover best too 🙂
Need to give a shout out to the last cover though: I love any cover that has snow feel to it.

That’s very true. The colours are more vibrant on the fourth cover which is why I preferred it but definitely very similar.

This book has some gorgeous covers! I favor your choice as well, although the one directly above it was a close second. I love the colors.

Great pick 😀 I absolutely love the first cover though – it’s really atmospheric and that plume of colour looks really daunting!

I like the third cover and the one you picked. It sounds like a good book. Overdrive doesn’t have it, but I might read it someday.

I really like the black/blue/white colour themed cover! But maybe that’s because it makes me feel patriotic 😀 haha… your choice is the best one for the psychedelic theme though, agreed! 🙂

You selected the cover I would have picked! That almost never happens 🙂
P.S. I love your new flowery blog re-design. It’s so you lol

Whoop! You are the first to comment on the blog about the header!😂 I like to amuse myself and thought why the hell not.😂 I know! It’s just so more ‘me’ than the old one.😂

I had to laugh at the Austin Powers gif xD I hadn’t heard of this title before, but I’m definitely going to add it to my TBR. I like the cover you picked! Although I like the one in the right upper corner as well, mostly because I love simple, bright colors. But yours fits the theme better. 😉

The book is fantastic, really harrowing and thought-provoking and such a great read.
Ha, the gif worked well for the post especially as my choice of book was more colourful than full blown psychedelic.

I would have picked the same cover. Psychedelic, man.
