It’s Mother’s Day in the UK and firstly, I’d like to take the opportunity to wish my own mother, Mother Tattooed Book Geek or, as she’s also known, Elaine a very Happy Mother’s Day.

As it’s Mother’s Day (UK) I thought that I would write a post about some cool mothers.

Marge Simpson from The Simpsons.

She loves her trio of kids and even if all she ever seems to do is constantly nag poor old Homer you can’t fault her mothering and the love she has for her family.

Sarah Connor from The Terminator franchise.

She risks everything to protect her son and save the world. Simply put, she’s a bad ass.👌

Peggy Bundy from Married with Children.

Gotta love Peggy, she’s lazy, whines (a lot), is a lapse homemaker but she’s cool and teaches her children life lessons while often ragging on Al (her husband) in the most hilarious of ways and she has some awesome quips.

Linda Belcher from Bob’s Burgers.

She loves her kids, has their best interests at heart and she’s a fun mum who is always up for adventure and a laugh.

Cersei Lannister from A Game of Thrones.

I’m sure that most of you would pick Catelyn Stark if you were choosing a mother from ASOIAF but! She’s so boring and bland! Look at Cersei, she’s power hungry but also wants what’s best for her family and her children.

Obviously, incest, that needs mentioning as she kept it in the family and diddled her brother but the heart wants what the heart wants and if she found Jamie’s sausage to be the tastiest in Westeros who are we to judge her?!🤔

She also loves Joffrey! I’ll let that sink in…….she loves that annoying little twerp that everyone hates. I mean, if that doesn’t show you the strength of the bond between mother and child and a mother’s love then I don’t know what will!

Agnes Brown from Mrs Brown’s Boys.

The matriarch, always ready with a cup of tea and some foul language. Very much family oriented and will do anything for her friends, family and children even if it is (at times) interfering.😂

The Xenomorph Queen from the Alien franchise.

If you look at it objectively, all she’s trying to do is protect her children and provide them with food.

Beverly Goldberg from The Goldbergs.

Overbearing, overprotective and oversensitive to the extreme. Her family and her children whose lives she makes miserable are her whole world. She is the ultimate smother.
