MusicMonday

Welcome once again to Music Monday where I offer you all a song that I really like. If anyone wants to join in then please feel free to have a go! 🙂

This week it’s the classic Slipknot nu-metal tune My Plague (New Abuse Mix) from the 2002 album Resident Evil: Music from and Inspired by the Orginal Motion Picture.

Slipknot: My Plague (New Abuse Mix).

I’m in conniptions for the final act
You came here for
The one derivative you manage
Is the one I abhor

I need a minute to eliminate
For everyone the
Everyday abusive things
That you have done

Your impossible ego
Fuck is like a
Megalomaniacal tab
On my tongue

And if you touch me, I will rip you apart
I’ll reach in and take
A bite out of that bitch
You call a heart

I know why you blame me
I know why you blame yourself
I know why you plague me
I know why you plague yourself

I’m turning it around
Like a knife in the shell
I wanna understand why
But I’m hurting myself

I haven’t seen a lot of reasons
To stop it, I can’t just drop it
I’m just a bastard but at least I admit it
At least I admit it

I know why you blame me
I know why you blame yourself
I know why you plague me
I know why you plague yourself

I know why you blame me
I know why you blame yourself
I know why you plague me
I know why you plague yourself

I know you blame me
I know why you blame yourself
I know why you plague me
I know why you plague yourself

I know why you plague yourself
I know why you plague yourself

Taken from the album: Resident Evil: Music from and Inspired by the Orginal Motion Picture. (2002).

  1. I consider Slipknot to my favorite band of all-time! But when thier All Hope is Gone album came out, I like, well, Psychosocial is good, but umm… and then everything since then I don’t like 😦

I understand bands evolve over time, particularly metal bands because of the vocal strain on the lead singers (look at the change Mudvayne has gone through!) and sometimes I like them more, and sometimes not. While I’m not a fan of the new Slipknot, for me, it doesn’t take away from music of thier first albums.
