Today on The Tattooed Book Geek I am pleased to be taking part in the Blog Tour for The Bespokist Society Guide to… London with a guest post.
Thanks to Acorn Independent Press, Anne Cater and Random Things Tours for the opportunity to be part of the tour.
Guest Post: My Typical Day by Oregon Glitch, 14 year old CEO, founder, MD and creative director of the BeMyYou lifestyle app.
Sponsored by The Bespokist Society
4am : The early bird catches the worm so it’s wakey wakey time. Check the app for all the overnight intel.
4.30am : My management team joins me for a mini-triathlon. It blows away the cobwebs both physically and mentally and allows us to have an informal catchup on events overnight.
6.45am : Throw on my Bermuda shorts and vest, set my BOSE headphones to the latest Sleeze beats, then it’s time to canoe to work.
7am : Breakfast at my desk while catching up on live-time events. Normally an acai berry, egg-less omelette with a handful of watermelon seeds.
9am : The Huddle. Every morning, no matter where we are in the world, this is the time me and my team leaders get together in a huddle. Sometimes The Huddle lasts 10 minutes, sometimes three hours. But by being physically close together we create a safe environment where anything goes. Confidences are shared, ideas get tossed and tears are shed. But we do it together because each one of us owns the BeMyYou philosophy.
11am : Time for some hard-hitting meetings. Occasionally let somebody go who I find out isn’t owning the BeMyYou philosophy.
1pm : Protein pot of steamed seaweed in the Chill Out Zone where I force the team to chill out. Work off my lunch with a relaxed 10k run while I mull over the responsibility that comes from being a leader.
3pm : Snack of dried lima beans at my desk. Then shoot some hoops in my office during an afternoon concall with marginal investors from Korea.
5pm : Coco Time – everyone’s favourite part of the day! Every afternoon I invite different teams to drop into my office to present to me on a variety of topics over a super-relaxed glass of coconut water. Recent topics have included ‘Cultural Delivery in the Urban Village’ and ‘Transition with a global mindset’.
8pm : Deliver frank debrief on Coco Time. At BeMyYou we are brutally honest with each other because we are passionate about workplace honesty.
9pm : It’s a wrap! Skateboard home where my mum will fix me an Avo Maki roll while I have some zen time. Then crash out. At BeMyYou we know that only unsuccessful people go to bed late.
