I have been rather lazy with my book haul posts recently. It’s been scorching hot in the UK (I prefer the colder weather) and well, ya know, procrastination too!😱😂😝

These are my recent books, apart from the ones that I purchased on the Kindle all of them are surprise and unsolicited book post! Now, sure, if King of Assassins and Bloody Rose hadn’t arrived then I’d have asked (begged) for a copy of each but they did and so, I didn’t need to.😉

The Sea Queen (Half Drowned King Trilogy #2) by Linnea Hartsuyker.

Sounds interesting but SFF/alien invasion is a very hit or miss genre for me and I have to be in the right mood to want to read it.

Rosewater is a town on the edge. A community formed around the edges of a mysterious alien biodome, its residents comprise the hopeful, the hungry and the helpless – people eager for a glimpse inside the dome or a taste of its rumoured healing powers.

Kaaro is a government agent with a criminal past. He has seen inside the biodome, and doesn’t care to again – but when something begins killing off others like himself, Kaaro must defy his masters to search for an answer, facing his dark history and coming to a realisation about a horrifying future.

The Fifth Ward: Friendly Fire by Dale Lucas.

I really enjoyed the first The Fifth Ward book, it was like a buddy cop movie in a fantasy setting and I’ll be interested to delve back into Lucas’s world.

Humans, orcs, mages, elves and dwarves all jostle for success and survival in the cramped quarters of the city of Yenara, while understaffed Watch Wardens struggle to keep its citizens in line.

In the most dangerous district in the city, Rem and Torval have been perfecting their good cop, bad cop routine. But when a perplexing case of arson leads to a series of gruesome murders, the two partners must challenge their own assumptions and loyalties if they are to wrest justice from the chaos and keep their ward from tearing itself apart.

I’ve not read RJB’s previous trilogy but seen many good things written about it and I’m interested to read a book by him and this sounds really good.

A book I’d been looking forward to since I read about it before its release. Alas, too many books and never enough time meant I’d yet to pick it up then when I saw it on offer for only £0.99p on the Kindle I snagged it.
