I carry the burden of time,
I’m running out of life,
Bound by the weight of chains,
Locked away behind these bars,
Alone in this cell, I made,
My flame has dyed out,
I’ll never leave the dark,
The only place I belong,
I’ve created my own demise,
Watching the years pass by,
I can’t reach for freedom,
With no hope for tomorrow,
I’m not someone for you to love,
Tormented by my scars,
I’m empty inside,
Going through the motions,
A shell of a former man,
Already dead…….

I love this, I could really picture someone or even myself as the person behind bars, screaming for help, but is just stuck there. Great job!

The first three lines hit exactly my own feelings about time. Nice going!

Nice stuff. How do you usually go on to write your poems? Random spur of the moment type of deal or there’s actually a structure to how you come up with these?
