Just a simple post today showing all of the covers for the books that I have read this year. There are 51 covers in total (that means I read 51 books) so not many compared to those of you who read 100 – 150+ books each year. But, for me, I feel that I had a good reading year and I read some absolutely amazing books. 🙂
So, I present to you all:
My Reading Year in Book Covers for 2018.

We Sold Our Souls was the best book, I think, of the year.

It’s one of the best for me, going on my best of the year list for sure, so damn good.👍

Believe it or not I’ve read 2 of those and both because you raved about them! The Feed and Seven Deaths.

But……but….you could easily borrow one of Mr Secret Library’s or Junior library’s fantasy books and give it a go. 😉

I really need to get my hands on The Seven Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle! I called in at Waterstones on boxing day with the intention of buying it and they didn’t have it 😦

Ha, sounds like me whenever I go to get a specific book, it ain’t there.😂🙄😂📚 I hope you enjoy it when you do get it, it’s a fantastic book and will be on my books of the year post when I do mine.👍📚

I love the idea of this post! *_* Seeing all the cover together is beautiful and I think that it’s also quite satisfying for you to see. I have read just one of the books you mentioned, Priest of Bones, and I loved it ❤ But I have most of them on my TBR, so your post remembered me about some series that I want to continue and about some books that I hope to read, sooner I hope than later!
And you had a really great year!!!!!!!

Thanks.👍 I thought it was a cool idea. I was going to do my Goodreads year in books and copy it from the Goodreads site into a post but with WordPress and it’s dodgy formatting I thought better of it and decided this was easier.🤣 Definitely cool seeing all the covers together. Priest of Bones was fantastic, glad you loved it.👍
Thanks, I think I did, it’s nearly a book a week that I read but when you see some who read 150+ books a year it makes 50 seem piddly in comparison.🤣

Will look forward to checking it out.👍 Mine will be going up later in the week as I’ve got to draft it and well, procrastination.😂 We Sold Our Souls will be on mine too, such a great book.👍

Looks like you had a great year! I like all the covers and have many of these added. I must get to The Chalk Man. Great post! Happy reading in 2019!

I did, 51 just doesn’t seem much when many bloggers read 150+😂😂😂 The Chalk Man is fantastic.👍📚

51 is a really good number! I think I read more children’s and middle grade this year, but oh well. 😂 Numbers really shouldn’t matter and the fact that we can enjoy reading does!

This is true, it’s all about the enjoyment. 🙂

I don’t care what anyone else says, 51 is still a lot of books to finish in one year. Some people can’t manage half that. If I can finish the book I’m currently on it’ll be 46 for the year for me.

That is true.👍 It’s nearly a book a week which is good and I’ve had a few occasions of not reading for a few weeks this last year so, add in the excessive PS4 time the last couple of months and yeah, I’m pleased with the amount. It just doesn’t seem much when you see people reading 150 – 200 books a year.😂

I love it! There are a few on here I still need to read. I’m hoping to finally get to The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle soon.

Quality over quantity, Drew 👌 there looks to be some serious quality on this post. I’m gonna pop back to it later and add a few to my TBR.
Grey Bastards in on my list as either a read or a listen this year. Looking forward to it!

Ah, that old saying.😂 Definitely rings true though, I had a couple of OK reads but most of them were fantastic. I hope you enjoy The Grey Bastards, be it reading or listening. It’s great, well, fantastically filthy is a better description for it but so good.👍

The reason I’m tempted by the audio is so I can enjoy the fantastic filthiness through my ears 😂

Hjwever, longer reads are perhaps better suited to audio than shorter ones. Can you recommend any epics?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Not recent ones no, I’ve tended towards the more normal length fantasy books recently than lengthy ones. Apart from the first book the Malazan books are epic in length though and fantastic too.

Same here. I’m not a super-fast reader. So I tend to go for the less chunky ones these days. Read the first Malazan and immediately forgot most of it

The first one is probably the worst in the series, it gets a lot better but, well, 10 books and other than the first they are 1,000 pages in length. I have heard many good things about The Ember Blade, it’s epic in length.

I’ll have a look at it. Hopefully that’s my next listen. Also tempted by adding John Gwynne’s stuff to my audible list. They are about 22-25 hours each

You read a lot of thrillers. I really enjoy those texts. However, the books that marked me in 2018 was “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini and “The Girl You Left Behind” by Jojo Moyes.
