New Year Book Tag! #BookBlogger #BookBloggers #Blogger #Bloggers

new year tag

I have seen the New Year Book Tag! on a few various blogs and thought why not give it a go myself?!?! I think (according to the other blogs) that it was created by Bookables a Booktuber.

How many books are you planning to read in 2019?

Well, being an ass I had half a mind to set my Goodreads goal at 1 book just for the shits and the giggles!

shit

But, ya know, gotta be serious as I am an award-winning, popular and well-respected blogger! That was one of my blogging goals for the year to refer to myself by that moniker. You can find my blogging goals post !!HERE!! And as I remembered to use the moniker in this post you can see that I am slaying those oh so serious goals that I set! 😉

I actually set my Goodreads goal at 30 but I’d like to read more and hope to read around the 50 book total.

Yes, I know that is a very low total compared to many of you!

Name five books you didn’t get to read this year but want to make a priority in 2019?

  • The Puppet Show (Washington Poe #1) by M. W. Craven.
  • The Bone Keeper by Luca Veste.
  • The Craftsman by Sharon Bolton.
  • Halcyon by Rio Youers.
  • A House of Ghosts by W. C. Ryan.

Name a genre you want to read more of?

Post-apocalyptic. I love the genre but often feel like I neglect it compared to others.

Three non-book related goals for 2019?

lose

  • Continue being myself.
  • Be OK.
  • Be kind.

What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?

Sea of Rust by C. Robert Cargill. I’m not sure that ‘forever‘ is right but I have had the book since its release back in 2017 and I need to read it. The cover is stunning, the blurb sounds really intriguing and I have seen it described as a ‘post-apocalyptic robot western‘ which makes it sound really cool!

One word that you’re hoping 2019 will be?

Better. Simply, it will be better.

better

I’m not going to tag anyone but if you see the tag on my blog and decide to do it then please link back so that I can check out your post aight?!

    1. I’m hoping for around 50 but 30 seemed easily achievable as I either seem to fly through a book in a couple of days and at other times take a fortnight to read a book.😂 Oh to be one of those who can read 150+ books!

Damn right you should, they are books after all.👍📚

      1. I know the feeling. Read Bloody Rose and The Straight Razor Cure really fast, yet have read some last year that took me weeks.

I’d settle for 50-100 every year. I know I’m not a speed reader and I never will be 😂

  1. If you’re wanting more post-apocalyptic stuff this year, I’d like to suggest Justin Cronin’s The Passage trilogy. First book is The Passage – I’ve read and re-read the series a number of times. They’re beautiful and great and I recommend them literally every chance I get. (Also I’ve met Justin Cronin and he’s a super cool guy, so I like throwing support his way). (Also, also, FOX is adapting this to a TV series and I am nervous).

    1. Thanks for the recommendation.👍📚 I’ve read The Passage and The Twelve but I’m yet to read City of Mirrors. I keep putting it off as when it’s over it’s over. I absolutely loved The Passage, such a fantastic book. I didn’t think The Twelve was as good but still quality and I have high hopes that he will end the trilogy in fantastic fashion.

Yeah, the TV show. It could go either way but hopefully it’ll be true to the books and be good.👍📚

      1. Ahhh City of Mirrors is BEAUTIFUL. It was such a perfect full circle end to the trilogy. People I know who’ve read it have had a few mixed reviews but I couldn’t imagine anything better.

  2. I really hope you are right about this year being better. 2018 was terrible for me. I think I need to travel sans kids. Like eat, pray, love but not so damn cheesy.
Farthest I’ve been Out of the country is Canada. Maybe I’ll visit the UK, then my relatives in Norway. Who knows .

  3. I set my goal on Goodreads at 10 books again. Of course, I will go above that. You might like the sci-fi books by Kent Wayne. They are pretty good. I haven’t read his fourth book yet. I plan reading it after I read Salem’s Lot by Stephen King.

  4. I’m always on the fence with post apocalyptic. On one hand, yay, love it! It’s also a great backdrop for some good dystopia to unfold eventually. On the other hand the whole scenario stresses me out 😀
