Waiting On Wednesday was a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Each Wednesday you got to highlight a book that you were really looking forward to. Unfortunately, the original creator is no longer able to host the meme and it has now linked up with Can’t Wait Wednesday over at Wishful Endings.
This week I’ve chosen:
A Gift for Dying by M. J. Arlidge.
Adam Brandt is a forensic psychologist, well used to dealing with the most damaged members of society.
But he’s never met anyone like Kassie.
The teenager claims to have a terrible gift – with one look into your eyes, she can see when and how you will die.
Obviously, Adam knows Kassie must be insane. But then a serial killer hits the city. And only Kassie seems to know where he’ll strike next.
Against all his intuition, Adam starts to believe her.
He just doesn’t realise how deadly his faith might prove…
Mother Tattooed Book Geek is a huge fan of the DI Helen Grace series which M. J. Arlidge also writes and she tells me that I should read the books as I like ‘dark stuff‘. I’m yet to get around to them but I have also read many great things for the series from my fellow bloggers and A Gift for Dying, a standalone by Arlidge seems like the ideal opportunity for me to finally read one of his books.
A Gift for Dying is published by Michael Joseph and released on March 7th, 2019.

Whew, even the blurb is scary. I would not want Kassie’s gift!

I’m looking forward to this one too! I’ve read a Helen Grace or three, they’re pretty good.

My mother rates them very highly but it’s a multi book series, don’t really have time. I think this would be a good introduction to the author and it sounds great.👍📚

I’m always conflicted about series, especially when I’m late to the party. On the hand I love having always one more book to read, on the other hand it feels like such an investment 😄

Hmm. Not my usual kind of read, but an interesting premise – and that tease about “how deadly his faith might prove” has me asking all sorts of questions.
