For all the days that have gone before,
I wish that I had been someone else, something more,
I didn’t know who I was supposed to be,
Living a story that wasn’t meant for me,
Is the pain I feel the making of my own design?
The wheels keep spinning, I can’t turn back time,
Every step I take, I walk this road in constant agony,
There’s no-one around, no hope to cure my tragedy,
I drift away, consumed by all of my fears,
Flowing with the tide in the river of my own tears,
I carve new scars when I fall, I lose this fight,
Always doubting, I missed years of my life,
Forever alone, I don’t know how to offer love,
I’m broken, the best I had to give was never enough,
I put the pieces together the only way I knew,
They didn’t fit, they weren’t a picture of you,
I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to be a better man,
The demon’s in my head, thoughts I could never understand,
For all the days that I still have left,
I’ll cloak myself in shadow, I’ll await my death…..
A gorgeous poem packed with feelings.
“I put the pieces together the only way I knew,
They didn’t fit, they weren’t a picture of you,”

Those lines would make excellent lyrics; Linkin Park could have made an awesome song of that poem. I do hope you’re doing OK!

This poem is so beautiful. I must say that I am very impressed. It is full of emotions. I agree with the one who said that it can be turned into a song.

nice poem. Sounds like a book character of a book I just finished reading. The book is called Echo Volume 4: The Last Edge of Darkness by Kent Wayne.
