Welcome once again to Music Monday where I offer you all a song that I really like. If anyone wants to join in then please feel free to have a go! 🙂
Insomnium: The Offering.
On through the burning night
The fever and the fear
Against the gates of death
I pound, I wail, I cryWith broken voice and heart
I demand a bargaining
I offer all I have
This blackened soul of mineThat once was pure, unspoilt
That once was fairHear me now
Open up your hinges
Let me enter
Receive my soulLet me lapse into dusk
Into soothing shadowsGladly I will step down
Redeem the one I loveOn through the scalding nights
The anguish and despair
Against the gates of death
I claw, I wilt, I starveIt would be just and fair
To let this old man fade away
Accept this sacrifice
This doomed soul of mineIt would only be right
To take this soul
My offering
It would only be fair
To let my dearest live
Still walk this earth
[Music: Vanhala; lyrics: Sevänen]
Taken from the album: Heart Like a Grave (2019).

Lol.😂 Nomad has a ‘punch you in the face’ attitude and if Drew has to listen to the Backdoor Boys he has a ‘bang his head against the wall’ attitude.😂

I absolutely love the music of this one (which I have never heard before)! The voice not so much 😂 I just can’t get on board with this kind of singing – it makes my throat hurt listening to it!

Lol.😂 Well, if you like the music just not the singing they have an instrumental song called Karelia.👌🎶

HAHAHAHA. I have tickets for Insomnium for the 9th of December. They´re playing in a smaller venue in Frankfurt. Have you ever seen them live?

No, only got into them very recently and I wouldn’t know if they’ve even played in the UK. it was only their latest album that came up on Youtube and I though the song title sounded pretty cool (and miserable) gave it a go and was hooked!
I’m jealous! 😦
