Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings based on Waiting on Wednesday that was created and run by Breaking the Spine where each Wednesday you get to showcase a book that you are really looking forward to and that has yet to be released.
This week I’ve chosen:
Later by Stephen King.
SOMETIMES GROWING UP
MEANS FACING YOUR DEMONSThe son of a struggling single mother, Jamie Conklin just wants an ordinary childhood. But Jamie is no ordinary child. Born with an unnatural ability his mom urges him to keep secret, Jamie can see what no one else can see and learn what no one else can learn. But the cost of using this ability is higher than Jamie can imagine – as he discovers when an NYPD detective draws him into the pursuit of a killer who has threatened to strike from beyond the grave.
LATER is Stephen King at his finest, a terrifying and touching story of innocence lost and the trials that test our sense of right and wrong. With echoes of King’s classic novel It, LATER is a powerful, haunting, unforgettable exploration of what it takes to stand up to evil in all the faces it wears.
Later is scheduled to be released on March 2nd, 2021 and is published by Titan Books as part of their Hard Case Crime series. I enjoy King’s work and I was a huge fan of his The Colorado Kid which was published and re-released last year by Hard Case Crime and the synopsis for Later sounds brilliant, dark and enticing.

I haven’t read Colorado Kid but might make this my first of the Hard Case crime books. Sounds pretty awesome.

I haven’t read any of his Hard Case Crime thrillers, but this one definitely sounds like it has some overlap with traditional King. One to watch for.

I’ll definitely read this! I think Joyland was one of the Hard Case books too? I loved that one, and anyway, I’ll basically read whatever SK writes!

Yeah, I believe it is, I’ve not read the book, but I remember seeing the cover and it definitely has a Hard Case Crime vibe to it.👍📚 I only read some of his work, mostly enjoy it bar the occasional dubious ending.😂

I know what you mean. He doesn’t always stick the landings, but somehow I don’t mind so much.
