Can’t-Wait Wednesday: Deity by Matt Wesolowski.

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings based on Waiting on Wednesday that was created and run by Breaking the Spine where each Wednesday you get to showcase a book that you are really looking forward to and that has yet to be released.

This week I’ve chosen:

Deity (Six Stories #5) by Matt Wesolowski.

deity-vis-5-2

A shamed pop star
A devastating fire
Six witnesses
Six stories
Which one is true?

When pop megastar Zach Crystal dies in a fire at his remote mansion, his mysterious demise rips open the bitter divide between those who adored his music and his endless charity work, and those who viewed him as a despicable predator, who manipulated and abused young and vulnerable girls.

Online journalist, Scott King, whose ‘Six Stories’ podcasts have become an internet sensation, investigates the accusations of sexual abuse and murder that were levelled at Crystal before he died. But as Scott begins to ask questions and rakes over old graves, some startling inconsistencies emerge: Was the fire at Crystal’s remote home really an accident? Whose remains – still unidentified – were found in the ashes? Why was he never officially charged?

Dark, chillingly topical and deeply thought-provoking, Deity is both an explosive thriller and a startling look at how heroes can fall from grace and why we turn a blind eye to even the most heinous of crimes…

Diety is scheduled for release by Orenda Books on December 18th, 2020 in ebook format and on February 18th, 2021 in paperback. I absolutely love the Six Stories series and this has to be my favourite cover in the series, yet. The blurb for Diety sounds delightfully dark and suitably sinister with the promise of buried secrets and revelations to be unearthed. Wesolowski always delivers and I have no doubt that Deity will be another fantastic addition to the phenomenal Six Stories series.

  1. Gahh 😣 I’m so behind with this series! I’ve only read the first one and it was so, so good. I vowed to carry on ASAP after the first instalment, and have I hell! 🙄 Sounds great Drew, another to carefully balance on the top of my TBR tower!

    1. Yeah, I think that the cover reveal was a month or so ago, I saw it on twitter otherwise I wouldn’t have known about it either.

Likewise, I loved the first four books and definitely can’t wait for this one, here’s hoping that we aren’t disappointed.😀📚
