Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings based on Waiting on Wednesday that was created and run by Breaking the Spine where each Wednesday you get to showcase a book that you are really looking forward to and that has yet to be released.
This week I’ve chosen:
Black Widows by Cate Quinn.
The only thing the three women had in common was their husband. And, as of this morning, that they’re each accused of his murder.
Blake Nelson moved into a hidden stretch of land – a raw paradise in the wilds of Utah – where he lived with his three wives:
Rachel, the chief wife, obedient and doting to a fault.
Tina, the other wife, who’s everything Rachel isn’t.
And Emily, the youngest wife, who knows almost nothing else. When their husband is found dead under the desert sun, the questions pile up.
What are these women to each other now that their husband is dead? Will the police uncover the secrets each woman has spent her life hiding? And is one of them capable of murder…?
I think that Black Widows sounds like an atmospheric, mysterious and really intriguing read with plenty of buried secrets to be unearthed.
Black Widows by Cate Quinn is due for release in the UK by Orion on February 4th, 2021 and in the US by Sourcebooks Landmark on February 9th, 2021.
For you, US folks (the main cover is the UK cover, I’m a UK blogger, got to represent my own country) here is the US cover:

Great pick – and, as usual, the UK cover puts the US one to shame. So glad we often get the UK editions in Canada. 🙂

Whispers quietly I actually quite like the US cover, but I do prefer the UK.

I hope it lives up to your expectations, Drew. The blurb and cover definitely draw you in. I think the UK cover has the edge. I’d pick it up over the US one if I saw them in Waterstones.
