Friday Face-Off February 9th: a cover featuring a cloaked figure. #bookbloggers #bookblogger

face off

The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy with a list of the upcoming themes over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.

This weeks theme is: “My what big teeth you have” – a cover featuring a cloaked figure.

My choice is:

The Left Hand of God (Left Hand of God Trilogy Book 1) by Paul Hoffman.

Lots of the covers this week actually fit the theme (shocker, right) but for me this is the winning cover.

I like the light marble type background, the red font really pops, the background also makes the hooded figure standout and I think that the designs around the outer edge of the cover look really smart. All together making for a fantastic cover.

Thoughts?? Agree?? Disagree??

      1. We’ve all been there! It was one of those books I didn’t mind until I l gave it to a friend and she pointed out a whole bunch of flaws that I then couldn’t unsee!

  1. Your choice is definitely the best, though if there was similar detailing in the font and border decoration on the first cover as there is in the second, it probably would be my favourite:). A great book, once again, Drew:).

  2. I remember we were buried under books that featured a hooded figure on the cover a couple of years ago! They are still around but now there’s more variety^^ I do like the Italian(?) cover of this book!

AJ STYLES SHOULD BE ON THE COVER OF EVERY BOOK! 😀

  3. Agreed! I like the contrast of the hooded figure against the lighter background. The boarder & title fonts are on point as well. I think my second favorite would be the one where the hooded figure is in front of the cathedral style door with the light shining in 🙂
