My Musings

I’m on a book cover, baby! #bookbloggers #bookblogger #blogger #bloggers #bookcover #books

baby

Blogging achievement unlocked! πŸ™‚

Some people don’t like to toot their horn or blow their own trumpet, they see it as bragging and making out that they are better than others, I say what utter crap and bullshit to that! I am quite happy to toot my own horn, blow my own trumpet, polish my own halo and brag about my blogging accomplishments!

Conceited on my part? No, and anyone who thinks it is and I am can fuck right off, I don’t want or need your negative BS over something that I never thought would happen!

I understand why some people don’t want to toot their own horn and honestly, I respect that. Afterall we don’t blog for acknowledgement, no, we blog for our love of books and to spread that love of the books that we enjoy but! But! If we should somehow get acknowledged for what we do then what is the harm in that?!?! There is none! And, there is no reason that we shouldn’t celebrate our successes.

Blogging can be hard and at times thankless, most of us will have struggled with a blogging slump at one time or another and when something good happens to your blog it is a nice little reminder and incentive that what you do, no matter how small your following matters.

So! I got quoted on the back cover of a book! How fucking cool is that! I mean, me, I suck at blogging, my blog is shit, I’m a bad influence (sup cunt), a blogging nobody and I am also someone who thinks that every review and post that they write is crap which is one of the reasons why I like to look on the bright side and shout about it when something good happens to my little blog.

Really, if you are like me and doubt the quality of your reviews then look at it this way……the fact that you doubt the quality shows that you care about them and what you write.

And, even if it is giving my blog a bit of promotion, it is still promoting the book too! And really, no-one cares who is on the cover, quoted inside, etc apart from the blogger it happens to, no, to them it is a wonderful thing and even if no-one else cares they do, I care that it has happened to me, it made me smile today and that is a good thing! πŸ™‚

So, the book in question, which I received in the post today is:

A Demon in Silver (War of the Archons #1) by R. S. Ford.

91gxIJDgNAL

In a world where magic has disappeared, rival nations vie for power in a continent devastated by war.Β

When a young farm girl, Livia, demonstrates magical powers for the first time in a century there are many across the land that will kill to obtain her power. The Duke of Gothelm’s tallymen, the blood-soaked Qeltine Brotherhood, and cynical mercenary Josten Cade: all are searching for Livia and the power she wields.

But Livia finds that guardians can come from the most unlikely places… and that the old gods are returning to a world they abandoned.

A Demon in Silver is released today, June, 12th.

Sounds great, I have read a couple of stellar reviews for the book already and I can’t wait to start reading it! πŸ™‚ I’m also on the blog tour for the book on Monday, June 18th with a guest post by the author, remember to come back and check it out! πŸ™‚Β

My back cover quote.

The quote (which was a complete and utter shock) is taken from my review for the previous trilogy by the author, the Steelhaven trilogy which I included in my Top Finished Fantasy Trilogies you should read blog post. πŸ™‚

  1. It was a shock? Like they did ask permission first? I’D SUE!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Congrats! You toot that horn all over the fucking place man!! I know I would! πŸ˜„πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸ’–
It’s so funny that you posted this, because just the other night my man said to me “… So, you review books. Maybe someday someone will quote you on their book jacket! Like where they quote. ‘from the New York Times’ and such.”.. Were you eavesdropping on our conversation again?? πŸ˜‰

    1. Yeah, bit boring really to be honest, weird music, weird books but damn, boring conversation though I guess if you write a great review for spermjackers then you could get on the jacket of the sequel!😱😝

No, they didn’t ask, didn’t mention it. I got a press release for the book as I’m on the publisher mailing list, I’m on the Blog Tour for the book so I’ve had correspondence with the publisher and yeah, nope, didn’t mention it, neither did the author. Hhhmmm maybe I should sue!πŸ˜€πŸ˜‚

      1. Well, you’re OBVIOUSLY listening to the wrong people then. My life is ANYTHING but boring! How could anyone who drinks that much be boring? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Weird music and books though? HELL’S YA! What would life be without a little weirdness?? πŸ˜‰ I feel that my life would be complete with a quote on the back of “Spermjackers II”… I could die happy.
Now we’ll just have to see if that quote is “This book was not the ‘load’ I was looking for” or “this book just jacked up and exploded right in my face!” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ»

  2. Haha congrats Drew! I don’t blame you at all for being excited and wanting to share and for those that think it’s bragging a Pfffttt to them since you are promoting the book and that’s what a book blogger should do. πŸ™‚

    1. Cheers, I guess it shows that they will put anyone on a book now!πŸ˜‚

I’ve not read it yet but have seen a couple of stellar reviews for it.πŸ‘ Oh, I saw your comment on The Grey B#stards review by Lashaan, it’s very foul-mouthed and at times vulgar but it is an absolutely fantastic read.πŸ‘

      1. I expect it would be vulgar if it has the biker theme to it. I have a little list at work so I don’t miss anything I see on here.

You are on the back cover of a novel you haven’t read? You little cheat.
