Welcome once again to Music Monday where I offer you all a song that I really like. If anyone wants to join in then please feel free to have a go! 🙂
This week I have chosen the cover version of Die Young (originally a Black Sabbath song from their Heaven and Hell album) whcih hasn’t been released as either a single or on an album but was recorded by Rob Flynn (the lead singer of Machine Head) as a tribute to a family friend who passed away and also Ronnie James Dio who sadly died on the same day too.
Rob Flynn: Die Young.
Yell with the wind though the wind won’t help you fly at all
Your back’s to the wall
Chain the sun and it tears away and it breaks you as you run
You run, you runBehind the smile there’s danger and a promise to be told
You’ll never get old
Life’s fantasy to be locked away and still to think you’re free
You’re free, we’re freeSo live for today, tomorrow never comes
Die young, die young,
Can’t you see the writing in the air?
Die young, gonna die young
Someone stopped the fallYell with the wind though the wind won’t help you fly at all
Your back’s to the wall
Then chain the sun and it tears away, it face you as you run
You run, you runSo live for today, tomorrow never comes
Die young, young
Die young, die young
Die young, die young, young
Die young, die young, die young
And here’s the original Black sabbath version:

That’s really sad. I have to say that the one by Rob Flynn is my favorite. First time I heard it. Thanks for sharing these. 🎵🎸
