Waiting On Wednesday was a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Each Wednesday you got to highlight a book that you were really looking forward to. Unfortunately, the original creator is no longer able to host the meme and it has now linked up with Can’t Wait Wednesday over at Wishful Endings.
This week I’ve chosen:
The Other People.
She sleeps, a pale girl in a white room . . .
Driving home one night, stuck behind a rusty old car, Gabe sees a little girl’s face appear in the rear window.
She mouths one word: ‘Daddy.’
It’s his five-year-old daughter, Izzy.
He never sees her again.
Three years later, Gabe spends his days and nights travelling up and down the motorway, searching for the car that took his daughter, refusing to give up hope, even though most people believe that Izzy is dead.
Fran and her daughter, Alice, also put in a lot of miles on the motorway. Not searching. But running. Trying to keep one step ahead of the people who want to hurt them.
Because Fran knows the truth. She knows what really happened to Gabe’s daughter. She knows who is responsible. And she knows what they will do if they ever catch up with her and Alice . . .
C. J. Tudor is one of my favourite authors. I loved both of her previous books, The Chalk Man (my review) and The Taking of Annie Thorne (my review) and I CANNOT wait for this release!
The Other People is published by Michael Joseph and released on January 23rd, 2020.
About C. J. Tudor.
C. J. Tudor’s love of writing, especially the dark and macabre, started young. When her peers were reading Judy Blume, she was devouring Stephen King and James Herbert. Over the years she has had a variety of jobs, including trainee reporter, radio scriptwriter, dog walker, voiceover artist, television presenter, copywriter and, now, author. Her first novel, The Chalk Man, was a Sunday Times bestseller and has sold in over forty countries. The Taking of Annie Thorne is her second novel. Twitter @CJTudor Facebook @CJTudorOfficial

Erm…tough question! Honestly, I love them both!👍📚 Annie Thorne has more of a horror aspect than The Chalk Man so depending on whether you like that or not, possibly I’d suggest The Chalk Man but both are brilliant.

The endorsement from Stephen King at the top of the cover is very encouraging, and your synopsis of the book confirms that this story would be perfect for oldtime King fans… 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
