Once,
Trapped in a land of dying screams,
I prayed for hope, for better days,
Adrift in a world of broken dreams,
My pain wouldn’t fade away,
Then,
I see that life is passing me by,
I realise I’m lost, growing older,
Repeating, I can’t move forward,
When I’m always looking back,
Now,
I can’t ever let this go,
My scars are on show, laid bare,
My suffering has brought me here,
To a place where the end is coming, is near,
Finally,
As I give in, I relent,
These words are taken from my lament,
I won’t make it to tomorrow,
If I don’t make it through today……..

First few lines made me think back to the Cult of Luna song: Passing through

nice poem. It reminds me of the character Roland in the Dark Tower book series. I’m starting the last book in the book series tomorrow.
