These are the latest books that I have received.

Knight of Stars (The God Fragments #3) By Tom Lloyd.

I really enjoyed the first book in The God Fragments series, Stranger of Tempest, it’s just good honest fun fantasy. I made grabby hands at the press release for this book and then realised that I’ve yet to read Princess of Blood, the second book, D’oh!😂 The good news is that I have it, I remember the good folks at Gollancz sending me it and then I never got around to reading it…just need to find it now and read it before this one.😂

Lynx and the rest of the Cards are heading south. There’s money in their pockets, beer in their hands and a simple job ahead – sun, sea and not getting shot at much. Throw in the prospect of a bar fight and it’s almost a holiday.

But the volatile Mage Islands are a powder-keg, one just waiting for a spark. A bloody-handed exile perhaps, or the agent of a foreign power preparing for war. Maybe even a bunch of trigger-happy drunks who’ve upset the balance of magic across the Riven Kingdom.

Or all three together, that’d definitely work…

I loved Priest of Bones when I read it last year, it was a fantastic blend of fantasy and gangsters. Or, if you will, gangtasy and I have high hopes for this, the sequel.

Jade War by Fonda Lee.

Jade War is the sequel to Jade City which I am yet to read. I’ve heard many great things about it and I really need to get around to catching up with this series.

The Last Astronaut by David Wellington.

I have to be in the right mood to read SFF, usually, I’m not but this sounds like it could be fantastic. I also get an Event Horizon feel from the blurb so I’m hoping that the book strays into horror territory.

A huge alien object has entered the solar system and is now poised above the Earth. It has made no attempt to communicate.

Out of time and options, NASA turns to its last living astronaut – Commander Sally Jansen, who must lead a team of raw recruits on a mission to make First Contact.

I don’t read many short story collections, I’ve never read a thriller short story collection, this one sounded interesting so I said yes, please to the press release and decided to give it a go.

The Lost Outlaw (Jack Lark #8) by Paul Fraser Collard.

This was yet more surprise book post and it is the eighth book in the series. I haven’t read any of the previous books but this sounds great. It also sounds like a western and westerns are cool.👌

Again, another surprise book and it sounds interesting.
